THE SOUL BEHIND THE LENS.

JEN HOFFER

Jen Hoffer has been collaborating with choreographer Kelsie Steil since 2020 and is a major and vital creative partner in this project's development. Together, they have developed a seamless understanding of the visual direction for the media and images that support Creature Works. In addition to her work behind the camera, Jen also dances in the company, bringing her embodied perspective to both performance and visual storytelling.

Jen's work aims to depict the less-tangible aspects of lived experiences. She primarily works in photography and video, blending documentary and surrealist, non-linear visual storytelling. She received a graduate certificate in Documentary Practices and Visual Journalism from the International Center of Photography (’21), and attended the Eddie Adams Workshop XXXIV (‘21). Jen also holds a MA Counseling Psychology With An Emphasis in Creative Arts from University of Maine at Farmington (‘25), as well as a BA in Sociology and Minor in Studio Art from Skidmore College (‘16).
